Yachting Ventures Ltd. has several Corporate programmes for your consideration. 1. Performance or Incentive reward . A day’s sailing under the guidance of an experienced skipper. Steer the yacht and trim the sails – everyone can experience the thrill of command! Visit a seafood restaurant or lunch on board. 2. Corporate Hospitality. Entertain your clients in an informal yet private environment. Business relationships cemented on the water endure the test of time. With an experienced skipper to guide you, relish the challenges of sailing to an island anchorage or seafood restaurant. Full Corporate catering on board can also be arranged. 3. Team Development. Your staff is your company’s future. We can devise programmes to specifically address your needs in this area. Using your own facilitator, or one of our Management Training associates, we will combine the theory of management skills with on the water application of them. Whatever areas of interest you wish to develop within your team sailing is an excellent way of making the theory work in practice. Through sailing we can promote: - Leadership - Team Building - Problem solving and Decision making - Communication Skills - Confidence Building (in association with Brian Renwick, formerly H.R. Director HSBC and H.K. Jockey Club) Usually a two-day course , the first day would start with a seminar in the morning followed by sailing instruction. After confidence building and sailing skills are acquired the team would be set a “Challenge” for the following day. Meeting the demands of the Challenge will require the application of all Team Development skills. The Challenge could take several forms. One such Challenge would involve the team in sailing and navigating in the Harbour. The team is given a chart with marks and buoys , each worth a certain number of points. They have to decide on the order of rounding these marks, who will steer, who will navigate, who will decide tactics, etc. A strict deadline is imposed and if it is exceeded then points are deducted. The outcome can be checked of against a ‘standard’ number of points. An experienced skipper will also be on board to ensure safety and the compliance with local laws. A wash-up of the Challenge is held to review the team’s performance and Management lessons learned. Seminar facilities are available at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.
